About Blooming Howls Some stories are finished the moment the last word is written down. That rarely happens with my writing. Most of my tales are word-seeds: characters, conflicts and plots sowing in my mind, blooming on my tongue, waiting to be howled through my fingertips and birthed into complete stories. Blooming Howls is a short collection of story-sprouts that grew… and grew… and will continue to grow into more…...

Magaly Guerrero writes in a style that I find somewhat reminiscent of the lyrical prose of Ray Bradbury. She employs poetic language, rich imagery, symbolism and metaphor to weave her darkly potent tales. Her short stories are not lightweight, disposable diversions; they demand thoughtful attention from the reader, but that effort is rewarded with indelible impressions left on the mind and senses.

I absolutely loved these short stories. They are a deliciously dark treat of the best sort. Magaly Guerrero writes with captivating poetic prose that draws the reader in to alternate realities that reside parallel to the one in which we live daily. My favorite stories in this collection are Blooming Howls and Rush after Darkness Rises Full.
